When Life Hands You Lemons

When Life Hands You Lemons

Good morning my sisters. Ok so Thanksgiving is behind us and I'm sure we all ate well, enjoyed our families, and are getting into crunch time to close out the year. Well what better way to get prespective on life then words of wisdom from our very own Pastor Tracie.

May her words bring a refreshing to your day.....

One of America's most refreshing & tasty drinks is freshly squeezed lemonade. There's just something about. I bet your mouth is watering for a taste right now.

Making lemonade out of lemons is also a commonly used quote, symbolizing taking the not-so-good or the sour things in your life and making them "work together for the good". Sounds like a Father I know!! But I want to ask you have you ever thought thru exactly how lemons turn to or become lemonade? Have you considered the process because it doesn't just magically happen.

Old Fashioned Lemonade Recipe (makes 6 cups)

What is Needed: 6 lemons - 1 cup white sugar

6 cups cold water

DIRECTIONS

Juice the lemons to make 1 cup of juice. To make your labor easier, FIRMLY roll the lemons between your hand and counter top before cutting in half and juicing.

In a gallon pitcher combine that 1 cup of lemon juice, with 1 cup sugar, and 6 cups of cold water.

Stir. Adjust water to taste. Chill and serve over ice.

Did you take note of the cutting involved, the pressure & pressing needed to get the juice out, the water you need to add to it, the sugar/sweetener you need to add & finally the stirring of it all together? By the way, isn't it then most refreshing when you allow it to chill or your pour it over rocks of ice (ice which is water that has taken on a solid form)?

Stop & think on that for just a moment before you read on.

You see if you want lemonade to be made from the lemons in your life, you are going to have to

1. Cut them up

2. Apply pressure & squeeze the nutrients (what's inside)out

3. Add a lot of Water - the Word is the water

(lemonade is at least 90% water added to 10% lemon juice)

4. Add sweetness - you've got to change your attitude.

The acidic sourness has to be balanced out by sugar or else you'll
be bitter lemonade that nobody can drink
without making faces or
adding their own sugar to it.
Philippians 4:8

5. Stir - allowing the essence or juice of your situations to be joined
with the Water & the sugar to produce a
product that now refreshes.

6. For immediate consumption pour over Ice. Ice which is the
water, the Word that has become solid in
your life; or

7. Refrigerate - after you've done all you can; or that's needed
Chill Out & let the Power source bring you to
the right temperature
   (the right season).

My sisters, this just doesnt happen on its own, there's work involved.

So, Where are you in the process?

Finally perhaps you don't want to make lemonade from your lemons because of all the work involved & you are just not "strong" enough. If that's the case then stop storing those "lemons" in your head and/or in your heart because there is a shelf life before the lemons begin to rot, decay & decompose, making You sick.

With much love I write this and I pray you consider these words as I woke up this morning with these thoughts burning in my heart & head.
